Moellhausen is a complex industrial concern with more than fifty years of experience in a large number of different sectors. The company produces and distributes, on a worldwide basis, an extensive range of raw materials for industry, with more than 1200 products including essential oils, plant extracts and derivates, natural and synthetic fine chemicals, frozen concentrated fruit juices, and organic ingredients in bulk.
Moellhausen products are widely used in the manufacture of flavours and fragrances, cosmetics and toiletries, foods and beverages, nutritional supplements, herbal and pharmaceutical specialities and also detergents, candles, adhesives, plastics and numerous other products.
Moellhausen’s head office is in Vimercate just outside Milan in the north of Italy. Apart from the offices of the board of directors, the Vimercate site also houses  the sales, purchasing, logistics and shipment tracking, marketing and communication, business development, corporate services and human resources departments.
Also the company’s main factory is located close to Milan, in the town of Cambiago. This modern industrial facility also houses the quality control chemical laboratories and the R&D unit.
The company production system counts on 35 production units in 19 countries (Italy, Brazil, Canada, China, Cuba, Egypt, the Arab Emirates, France, Germany, Madagascar, India, Indonesia, Israel, Paraguay, Russia, Spain, Turkey, Hungary, and New Jersey in the US); under contract and with the direct supervision of Moellhausen, various processes are outsourced to external companies qualified in terms of their specific technology, capacity, and geographical location.
Ready products are held in stock at the production sites and at seven logistic warehouses in Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Brazil, Paraguay, and the US (New Jersey). Through the above sites, which are of strategic importance also for the procurement of raw materials, Moellhausen exerts effective control over its stocks and is able to guarantee continuous supplies of its products to more than forty countries worldwide.
Moellhausen prides itself on the absence of strategic boundaries limiting the sale and distribution of its products. A dynamic, semi-centralised sales structure operates across the world in close cooperation with quality assurance, R&D and logistics, providing customers with the fullest possible assistance for the selection of raw materials and the optimisation of supply plans. In specific markets, in order to assure the utmost customer satisfaction, sales staff from the company head office operate in the field, aided by skilled consultants and agents.

By means of the “Products Page” on the corporate website, Moellhausen provides access to a database containing constantly updated item codes of the most representative products in stock or available for JIT deliveries.
The more than 1200 products in the database can be selected on the website in accordance with several different criteria; in addition, technical and safety datasheets can be downloaded and samples and quotations can be requested rapidly.

Considering the large number of products handled and the factors that affect the availability of raw materials throughout the world, the publication of “static” lists is unsuitable for Moellhausen; such documents would be outdated almost immediately after release.

A widespread system of quality procedures have been set up in respect of supplier  qualification, laboratory checks on raw materials and products, logistics, and technical and commercial assistance for customers.
Short lead  times can be guaranteed thanks to our awareness of the exact capacity of individual production units and the integration of the facilities in an extended network of production plants and logistic warehouses.

The current capacity of the company is the result of the modern integration of 35 production units and 7 logistic warehouses with a semi-centralised structure that includes quality control laboratories, product development units, logistics, marketing, sales, administration and finance.
